This article details the tax setup feature on Dshop for merchants who might need to charge taxes on sales. This feature is still in beta and does not do any automatic tax calculations at the moment. Merchants are currently able to manually set tax rates for different countries, which will be applied during checkout. If you have feedback or any suggestions on how to improve this feature, we'd love to hear from you - just send an email to dshop@originprotocol.com.
Note that Dshop doesn't file or remit your sales taxes for you. If you are unsure of how much to charge, we recommend talking to a tax professional to ensure that you are following the law and charging the correct tax rates.
To get started, log in to your Dshop dashboard. Go to Settings > Checkout, and look for Taxes at the top of the page.
Select a country from the dropdown and a state or city, if applicable. Then enter the tax rate you would like to charge.
Click "Add another country", or click "Update" at the top right corner of the page to complete your tax setup.
Your tax settings will now be applied and buyers will see any applicable taxes during checkout.
If you still have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team at dshop@originprotocol.com anytime.
